Concealer Review: Benefit VS Soap&Glory!!

Hey girls!♥
As you can probably tell, I am a bit of a concealer junky. Due to my horrible dark circles it is a must for me. Honestly, if I could only use one makeup product for the rest of my life it would have to be concealer. So I am no stranger to the world of concealers and I have become quite fussy towards certain aspects.
Over a month ago, I purchased the Benefit Erase Paste and the Soap&Glory Kick Ass Concealer. I included them in a recent beauty haul and asked if anyone would like to see a comparison review. I got a good response from a few people. I wanted to leave it until today so I had at least a few weeks to properly test them both and not just give my first impression. Remember that this is just my personal opinion and you might agree or totally disagree.

Benefit Erase Paste
This one was a bit of a disappointment for me. I read mixed reviews before buying it but I figured at that price it has to be good-definitely not the case!
I really cant think of many good points to this product. I quite like the packaging and the instruction booklet that comes in the box, but that's about it in terms of positives.
When I first applied it I thought it was nice and brightening but coming home after a busy day, I looked half dead. You would be better with nothing on as it just makes your undereyes look even worse. It brought out every fineline/crease under my eyes and I'm only a teenager(I can't imagine how it would look on wrinkles). Don't even get me started on blemishes, it just makes them stand out and doesn't cover anything. The consistency is very greasy and way too thick. It feels heavy and caked. It refuses to blend properly without having to tug at your face. It kind of resembles a paste, as the name suggests but I doubt that's what they were going for. The coverage that you actually get does not last. It feels sticky and basically slides off of your face throughout the day.
I really wanted to like this but it just wasn't for me. It's extremely overpriced for the results you get. I think it would look okay if applied very sparingly on top of higher coverage concealer. The brightening effect is nice but the formula is not suitable for under the eyes-it would be better use as a highlight. I like the cute packaging but that definitely doesn't justify the price.

Soap&Glory Kick Ass Concealer
-£10(On Sale at the moment for £7 in Boots)
I heard great things about this concealer from quite a few people. This is actually a 3 in 1 concealer. It has a mirror, a peachy side for undereyes, a yellowy side for blemishes, plus another compartment with a setting powder and a powder puff. So you can already see that you are getting a lot more for a lower price-it's a win win situation!
The packaging is a love/hate for me. I love the funky old school Soap&Glory design and of course it is really handy having everything in the one. All though it's very bulky and it gets fiddly navigating between the separate compartments.
Both sides of the concealer have a very creamy texture, apply smoothly and blend like a dream. The coverage is a lot better than that of the Erase Paste. The two sides of concealer do have a slightly different consistency. The face concealer is thicker, while the undereye concealer much creamier. I think that some skin types might find it too rich or even greasy but I didn't have much of a problem with that. The top compartment includes a pressed finishing powder. The powder is translucent but very brightening. It is amazing quality and I would recommend using it at all times. I did find the powder puff to be very useful too.
I was very impressed with this concealer. It is such a great bargain for all the extras you get with it. It's very moisturising and gives beautiful coverage. The staying power isn't perfect but it is still an excellent product.

Overall I think we should all learn from my mistake, more expensive doesn't always mean better! So don't waste your time with the erase paste..

Have you tried any of these concealers? What did you think of them?
I really hope this helped some people out, feel free to leave me any questions or comments and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Hey everyone!♥
I popped into Primark yesterday to have a quick look and I wasn't really intending on getting much. When I got home I realised that I had accumulated enough things to do a full Primark haul. They are having some AMAZING 'End of Summer' Sales right now and I would highly recommend stopping by if you are passing a store!

London Jumper -£6
The first thing is this slightly cropped jumper. I think everyone loves London but I got it because I really liked the black and white print on top of the bright pink.

Grey Zipper Hoodie -£9
These are very similar to the American Apparel hoodies for a fraction of the price. I knew that Primark did these kind of hoodies in the men's section for £12 but this was the first time I had seen them in the women's and at £9 they are even cheaper!

Lemon Blouse -£5
I actually have this in the mint colour which I featured in my Birthday Fashion Haul. I absolutely love these blouses and when I saw them for half price I had to get another. It is just fantastic that you can get this sort of blouse for £5 as they definitely don't look cheap. I was eyeing up the pink one too and I am even thinking about going back to get a third before they are sold out.

Cropped Tops -£1 (each)
I honestly could not believe my eyes when I saw these were a pound! I would have gotten more but they didn't have a lot left in my size. I got this really cute stripey pattern and this nice hot pink. They are cut shorter than your average top but still look great with leggings or shorts.

Orange Tank Top -£3
This is just a basic orange/coral top. I don't have many things in this bright colour and I liked the style with the button detailing down the middle.

Pink Coin Purse -£2
I thought this was really pretty and I loved the pale pink and gold together. It is actually just a coin purse with one zip compartment at the top but for only £2, I am sure it will come in handy for keeping spare change.

Navy Blue Toms -£4
I thought these looked just like Toms and for basically a tenth of the price. They had loads of colours but I liked the navy blue with brown soles. They are super comfortable too!

Brown Hair Donut
I actually just figured how to use hair donuts. I have other ones but I wanted to get something closer to my hair colour. The Primark ones are pretty good and they are only a pound!

Purple Rope Bracelet -£1
The last thing that I got was this bracelet at the check out. It was reduced to £1 and I don't really have much purple jewelry, so I just got it.

I hope you liked this, feel free to leave me any questions or comments and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

EMPTIES: Products I have used up! #1

Hello everyone! ♥
I have seen a lot of posts like this recently and I find them so interesting. We are always showing the products we have bought but it's great to see the products people actually get good use out of, apposed to those products you use a couple of times and then chuck to the back of your drawer.
I have been collecting for quite a while now so I have loads of things to show you and I will be doing this in two parts. This first part being hair, body, skincare and nail products, then the second part being just makeup products. I am working on the second post and I will link it here as soon as it is up. Don't forget to follow my blog so you will know when I post it.

Hair Products
Batiste Dry Shampoo Original
I have tried so many different dry shampoos and this has to be the best. I always go back to it.
  • So quick and easy for lazy days.
  • Gives you fresh and clean looking hair.
  • Adds volume.
  • Leaves a bit of a white-ish mark.
Rating out of ten: 9
Would I repurchase it?: I already have!

Johnson's Baby Shampoo
This was once my everyday shampoo but now I mainly use it for cleaning my makeup brushes.
  • Cheap.
  • Does the job.
  • Very gentle for a sensitive scalp.
  • Creates a nice lather.
  • Leaves your hair feeling softer.
  • Perfect for cleaning makeup brushes.
  • I don't think it would be the best for thick or greasy hair.
Rating out of ten: 8
Would I repurchase it?: Yes

Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo
I have always loved Aussie products, especially their conditioners. So when I saw this mini Aussie travel sized shampoo on sale I thought that I might as well try it.
  • Makes your hair very moisturised and shiny.
  • The sweet scent is absolutely amazing!
  • It was a bit pricey.
  • It can get greasy.
Rating out of ten: 7
Would I repurchase it?: Maybe

TRESemme Moisture Rich Conditioner
This has to be one of the most softening conditioners out there. The huge bottle has lasted me forever.
  • Gives you extremely soft and silky hair!
  • Not greasy at all.
  • Very generous amount in the bottle
  • It doesn't give you that much shine.
  • I found it quite difficult to squeeze the product out.
Rating out of ten: 8
Would I repurchase it?: Yes

Schwarzkopf Got2b Guardian Angel Heat Protection
I don't know why this is so popular. For starters the bottle is misleading, very tall but only contains 200ml. I liked the fact that you can use it on wet and dry hair but it doesn't do much in terms of protection, which is supposed to be the purpose of the product.
  • It can be used for straightening, curling and blow-drying.
  • Adds shine and doesn't make your hair too sticky.
  • The scent is quite nice.
  • I didn't notice any protection against further damage.
  • It's quite pricey for all that you get.
Rating out of ten: 4
Would I repurchase it?: Nope

Body Products

Original Source Lime Shower Gel
I love Original Source in general and this is probably one of my favourite shower gels. I have repurchased it countless times.
  • Very cheap.
  • The scent is yummy- sweet, fresh and citrusy.
  • It is so refreshing and a great wake-me-up for the mornings.
  • Apparently packed with natural stuff.
Rating out of ten: 10
Would I repurchase it?: YES!

Dove Plum & Sakura Blossom Body Wash
I picked up a couple of these when I saw them on offer in Asda and I fell in love! They are good enough to eat!
  • Amazing sweet and fruity scent.
  • Very creamy and moisturising.
  • You only need a tiny amount to create a great lather.
Rating out of ten: 11!
Would I repurchase it?: Of course!

Sure Long Lasting Protection Antiperspirant Bright
This is my all time favourite deodorant! I find that most antiperspirants don't smell particularly nice but this one is lovely! I actually want it as a perfume. I wear it everyday.
  • Nicest smelling antiperspirant I have ever used.
  • Protection that lasts all day.
  • I really like the packaging too.
  • It can leave a white stain.

Rating out of ten: 10
Would I repurchase it?: Definitely!

Skincare Products

Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturisng Lotion
This is the perfect all around moisturiser. It is great for sensitive  skin. I have used it everyday since the winter time.
  • It is gentle and unscented.
  • Very soothing on dry or itchy skin.
  • It is thick but sinks into the skin quickly.
  • Gives you lasting soft, moisturised skin.
  • It can get a bit greasy.
Rating out of ten: 9
Would I repurchase it?: Yes

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish
I was over the moon when I got this free in a set from a magazine and I actually did a blog post about it. I am sure that anyone who has tried it will agree that it is by far the best cleanser EVER!
  • Gets rid of every last trace of makeup.
  • Very gentle- doesn't sting at all even right on the eyes.
  • Makes your skin feel healthy and hydrated.
  • I love the light scent.
  • I also love the mint green packaging.
  • Very pricey!

Rating out of ten: 10
Would I repurchase it?: I really want to!

Nail Products

Rimmel Lycra Faster 60 Second Top Coat
I found this very average and it definitley doesn't live up to the 60 second claim. I think there are some better topcoats out there.
  • Easy to apply.
  • Gives a nice shine.
  • Takes hours to dry!

Rating out of ten: 6
Would I repurchase it?: Probably not.

Elegant Touch Nail Polish Remover Pads
These are just amazing! I used to absolutely love the Quickies Nail Polish Remover Pads but these are even better. I don't get why people still use regular liquid nail polish remover.
  • Cheap.
  • Very quick and simple.
  • The packaging is great and compact.
  • They actually smell good.

Rating out of ten: 10
Would I repurchase it?: YEAH!

I hope this was helpful, feel free to leave me any questions or comments and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
