Concealer Review: Rimmel VS Collection(2000)!!

Hi everyone!
Around Summer time I posted a Concealer Comparison between Benefit and Soap&Glory which got quite a good response. So after purchasing my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer, a few weeks ago, I decide to do something similar between it and the Collection(formally known as Collection 2000) Lasting Perfection Concealer.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Starting with the much loved Collection concealer which claims to give transfer proof, water resistant, ultimate wear full coverage for up to 16 hours. The two things that I like most about this concealer are the flawless coverage and the great formula. It gives the best coverage that I have ever seen in a drugstore concealer. I really like the thick consistency which dries beautifully matte and doesn't even need to be powdered. It lasts all day and without creasing at all.
The only thing that I have a problem with is the range of colours. The light shade works very well for me in the summer when I am a bit more tan. All though when it comes to winter it is a tad too orange for me. I can rectify this by mixing the colours but I would still prefer if they added a few more shades to the range. As you can see in my picture the writing on the tube has completely worn off which shows that the packaging must be cheaply made. The doe foot applicator is nice but I would love if they made some slight changes to the packaging and increased the size of the tube. If you are using it everyday the tiny tube doesn't go very far.
Nevertheless the product itself remains one of my all time favourite concealers, it definitely lives up to the hype and I would highly recommend to anyone.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

Now on to the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealear. There has been a lot of hype surrounding the Wake Me Up Foundation but I think the concealer deserves more love. It claims to be Rimmel's first full coverage concealer which gives an instant anti-fatigue effect with peptides and vitamin moisturising complex to visibly reawaken and illuminate under the eyes aswell as completely concealing spots and other blemishes. In terms of packaging I am a huge fan. I think the bright orange lid looks really cool, it is a much better size and it feels a lot more sturdy. The formula of this concealer is very different. It has a much thinner, sheerer, creamier and almost oily consistency. The dewy finish is nice but you need to use powder or it doesn't set very well. It contains subtle glitters to help with the brightening 'anti-fatigue effect'. I was a bit skeptical about having a glittery concealer but honestly you can't even see them in the swatch so when it is blended in on your face it's not all noticeable. I was a lot happier with Rimmel's range of shades and I think the Ivory shade is a perfect match for my skin. I really like this concealer for the undereye area but I don't think it works particularly well on blemishes, whereas the Collection concealer does both. I also wouldn't call it a full coverage concealer as I feel it has a lighter natural look.

Overall I do like this concealer too. If you are looking for a brightening concealer which still maintains a natural look I would say it is worth a shot.

In conclusion I think both of these concealers are a good buy. I have slightly favoured the Collection one just because I like a more flawless look but that is just my personal preference.

I hope some of you found this helpful!
Let me know what your favourite concealer is because I am always up for trying a new one!

Valentine's Day Nails!♥

Hello girls! I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day!
Today I thought I would share my take on this popular Valentines Day nail art trend. I love the contrast between the deep base colour I have chosen and the cute baby pink hearts on top.

I created this look using OPI's Skyfall and Avon's Pastel Pink with the help of a trusty bobby pin. I applied two coats of Skyfall and waited till it was completely dry. I then poured out some Pastel Pink and dipped the end of my bobby pin in to it. To make the heart shape I simply created two dots next to each other and connected them with a peak (this part is a lot easier than it sounds).

Then on my thumb nail I decided to do something slightly different by surrounding the heart with small dots. You could do this step on your ring finger instead or even all of your nails.

Let me know what nail look you were rocking this Valentine's Day!
Have a great weekend!

Beauty Haul: Boots, Superdrug & TKMaxx!!

Happy Friday! Today I have a beauty haul for you all from my last few naughty shopping trips.

Soap&Glory Hand Food (£2.50)
The first thing I picked up was this Soap & Glory hand cream. In the colder months my hands tend to get extremely dry so I was in need of a decent hand cream. I've heard wonderful things about this one and it smells lovely so I thought I would give it a whirl.

Dove Summer Glow Body Lotion (£4.99)
I hate feeling so pale at this time of year but fake tan has never really been my thing. So I decided to take a baby step and try out a gradual self tanner for fair skin.

Tangle Teezer (£10.99)
I have wanted to try one of these for such a long time but I always thought they were very overpriced for a hairbrush. Although I had some extra Boots points to spend so I finally decided just to get one.

Revlon Eyelash Curler (£3.99)
My trusty Primark eyelash curler was getting a bit worn out so I thought I would try out a new one. I haven't really tried many different eyelash curlers so I am interested to see how this one goes.

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation (£7.69)
This was one of the first foundations I tried and I'm not sure why I ever stopped using it. It was my favourite for years so I thought I would pick up a new one.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer (£5.49)
I have heard a lot of great things about the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation but I haven't really heard much about the concealer. I was all out of my Collection(2000) one so I decided to try this myself and see how it performs.

BarryM Liquid Eyeliner (£4.79)
I'm not usually much of a liquid eyeliner person as I prefer to use gel or felt liners but I picked this up on recommendation from a friend. I've never really pondered into the world of BarryM makeup before but I absolutely love their nail polish so I have quite high hopes for this.

Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara (£10.99)
I had been meaning to try this mascara for the longest time but I just never got round to it. It seems like every time I need a new mascara some groundbreaking new one comes out and I end up forgetting about anything else that I planned on trying. It is supposed to be the UK version of Covergirl Lash Blast so I am very excited to try it out.

OPI Get Bonded Set (£16.99)
Butter London Lips & Tips Set (£9.99)

During a trip to TK Maxx I found myself wandering towards the beauty product section and I discovered the huge range of high-end nail polish sets that they had. I was tempted to buy more but I stopped myself at two. The first one is the OPI Get Bonded Set. It comes with three gorgeous full-sized colours: 'The Spy Who Loved Me' which is a bright ruby-red with gold shimmer through it, 'Goldeneye' which is an eyecatching gold and 'Skyfall' which is a very deep maroon colour. I thought £16.99 was a great deal considering OPI nail polish usually cost around £12 each in the UK. The second thing is this pretty Butter London Lips & Tips Set. It comes with a full-sized nail polish in the glittery pink colour 'Rosie Lee' and the matching 'Rosie Lee' lipgloss. It would have cost an outrageous £21 but I got it for only £9.99.

Have you tried any of these products? Or would like to see a review on any of them?
Leave me a comment and let me know!

NOTD/Tutorial: Winter Ombre Nails!

Hello everyone!♥
Today I am going to show you step by step how to create this really pretty nail design that I actually wore a lot around Christmas time. I would describe it as a sort of glittery ombre effect that is perfect for this time of year. It is super easy, even I can do it and I'm certainly no professional. This doesn't require any special tools and you will probably have everything you need lying around the house. I choose wintery colours but you could definitely switch them up to suit you all year round. So without further ado let's get in to the tutorial.

What You Will Need:
  • Base coat
  • Red nail polish
  • Red glitter polish
  • Gold nail polish
  • Top coat
  • Tin foil
  • Some cotton buds

  • Apply a base coat to protect your nails then paint an opaque coat of your chosen red nail polish.
  • Wait for it to dry.

  • Pour some of the sparkly red polish on to the tin foil.
  • I'm using tin foil as a surface instead of something like a paper towel so it won't absorb the nail polish.

  • Dip your cotton bud into the nail polish and dab it on to the upper two thirds of your nail.

  • Repeat this on all of your nails.

  • Do the same using gold nail polish on the first third of your nail.

  • Apply your favourite top coat to seal in the design and add a gorgeous shine.

That's all there is too it! Good luck if you try this out! :)
Have a great weekend!
